Many acts of war and terror have been fought in the name of religion, and we wonder how this could happen. The answer may be found in how a few religious groups interpret their religious teachings. Some religious leaders may teach their followers their beliefs are correct and should not be challenged. Spirituality, however, is more of a personal belief in a higher power. Would it be prudent to temper the dogmatic beliefs of religion that seem to divide us, or practice the spiritual elements of all religion that could unite us?

Eighth Annual Garcia Theater Project to be held at USC Aiken May 10th

Aiken, S.C. – Four University of South Carolina Aiken students received awards for outstanding undergraduate research presented at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Science on April 13th at Benedict College in Columbia. In addition, USC Aiken student Priscilla Simon received the American Association for the Advancement of Science Award as the outstanding Female Scientist presenting at the meeting.
