USCA students have several accounts which need to be setup as soon as possible.  You'll use these on a daily basis as you prepare for the start of classes and throughout the rest of your student career.

Please follow the links and instructions below to complete your account setups.  These are the latest instructions and may vary from others you've received by email or mail.  If you run into issues please contact the Help Desk for assistance.

Self Service Carolina (SSC):

You will log into SSC for administrative tasks such as registration, financial aid, housing, and grades.  SSC is also where you'll setup your USC Network Account which is used to log into Blackboard (for online courses) and Office 365 (for your USCA Students email account).

To setup SSC for the first time, please follow the instructions found at this page: https://my.sc.edu/vipid/

Once you have your SSC account setup, you can log into SSC by going to http://my.usca.edu/ and clicking the "Self Service Carolina" link on the left side of the page under "Links".

Can't Log Into SSC?  

If you don't know your VIP ID to sign into SSC, you must contact USCA Records at 803-641-3550 for assistance.

If you receive an error stating that your VIP ID hasn't yet been claimed, try re-claiming your VIP ID by completing the form at: https://my.sc.edu/vipid/claim/process?execution=e4s1

If you can't remember your VIP ID/SSC password, complete this form to reset the password: https://my.sc.edu/vipid/reset/process?execution=e5s1



Blackboard:

Blackboard is where you'll do all of your online course work.

You log into Blackboard using your USC Network Username and Password.  To set this username and password:

  • Go to my.usca.edu
  • Click the "View my ID's" link under PERSONAL on the Students tab
  • Log into SSC
  • You'll be shown your Network Username
  • Click the Manage Password button beside it to set your password.  Pay close attention to the password restrictions.
  • Once you've set that password, you should be able to log into Blackboard within 5-minutes.

Be sure to remember your Network Username and Password, you'll need them daily as a student.

Blackboard can be accessed at: https://blackboard.usca.edu/ or by clicking the link at the bottom of the USCA home page.

Do you need to take a Math Placement test?  

Most students attending USCA for the first time must complete a math placement test. To access these tests, log into Blackboard. Then click "USC Aiken Math Placement Test" under My Organizations on the right-side of the Blackboard screen.

Student Email (Office 365):

USCA uses Microsoft Office 365 for Student email.  Your account with Office 365 offers email, calendar, instant messaging, SkyDrive storage and access to online versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

To log into your email account, simply click the Student Email link at the top of the USCA website, or go to:
https://Outlook.com/email.usca.edu

For username, enter your Network Username (the same one you use for Blackboard) followed by @email.usca.edu.  For example, if your Network Username is doejr then your Office 365 username is doejr@email.usca.edu

For your password, also enter the same password as the one you set for your Network Account/Blackboard.

During your first login, you'll be asked to set your Time Zone.  Eastern Time is the 16th from the top of the list.

You'll then be taken directly to your Inbox and can begin using your Student email.

Remember, your USCA Student email address will be your Network Username plus @email.usca.edu.  For example, doejr@email.usca.edu

ONLY ABLE TO LOG IN WITH AN @EMAIL.SC.EDU ADDRESS?
Try changing your preferred email address by doing an Email Campus Change.

PacerStudent Account:

PacerStudent accounts are used to log into all local campus resources, including: lab computers, wireless, PacerPrint printing, Junos VPN (used to access the campus remotely), Impulse SafeConnect (used to connect to the campus network from a personal computer) and any website ending with a usca.edu domain name.

To set your PacerStudent Password go to: https://www.usca.edu/reset/

Your PacerStudent Username will be the same as your Network/Blackboard Username.  However, your password is different and must be set separately.

When prompted for your Old Password, enter the last 5-digits of your VIP ID followed by USCA#  For example, if the last 5-digits of your VIP ID Number are 12345, then your Old Password would be entered as: 12345USCA#

Now choose your New Password.  Be sure to follow the password requirements as listed on the page.  For simplicity sake we suggest simply setting this password to the same one you chose earlier for the USC Network/Blackboard Password.

 

What's Next?

Now that you have all your USCA Student accounts setup, it's a good time to familiarize yourself with each.  Have a look around each system and let us know if you have a question.

If you already know your instructor's email address it's also a good time to send them an email from your new student email account to ensure they have the correct address when classes begin.
