Beginning in fall 2015, the Center for Research Excellence began a program to brand and rename "Research Day." This process was initiated based on a desire to more accurately reflect the breadth of student work across the USC Aiken campus. To accomplish this, Dr. Michael Fowler's Introduction to Graphic Design students were tasked with the job. The winning design, which was created by the team of Lauren Carver and Linh-Da Nguyen, is simple, yet descriptive and eye-catching. We are therefore pleased to unveil USC Aiken's Scholar Showcase.
USC Aiken's Scholar Showcase is a day-long event held each spring to showcase the diversity of our undergraduate student's research and creative endeavors and fosters the communication of their accomplishments.
The Center for Research Excellence is pleased to announce the inaugural Scholar Showcase on Friday, April 14, 2017. This will be our tenth celebration of the work of our faculty and their students. The 2017 event will feature a poster session, concurrent oral sessions in the humanities and sciences, and a biomedical symposium. In addition to more traditional oral or poster presentations, creative projects will be showcased through visual art displays, theatrical or musical performances, or readings.
The event is free, but registration is required for participation. We encourage all USC Aiken faculty to support this exceptional undergraduate experience through undergraduate mentorship, suitable course projects, or participation as session moderators.
10th Annual Scholar Showcase 2017 date: Friday, April 14, 2017
Registration: Opens on March 1, 2017
Location: Gregg-Graniteville Library
This year, Scholar Showcase will be hosted by the Gregg-Graniteville Library Library. This is a great opportunity to reinforce the academic nature of this event and highlight the importance of the library to the USC Aiken campus.
